Campervan Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)

Buying or selling a campervan? Our comprehensive Inspection Service provides the detailed assessment and peace of mind you need. We perform a thorough top-to-bottom evaluation of the vehicle and its camper systems, helping you make informed decisions with confidence.

Our Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) is a comprehensive evaluation of your campervan's systems and functionality. Whether you're purchasing, selling, insuring, or simply assessing the condition of a van, our inspection provides detailed documentation and peace of mind.

For buyers, a PDI helps ensure that all major camper systems and components are tested for proper operation. Any issues discovered during the inspection will be documented, allowing you to make an informed purchasing decision and better understand the vehicle's value.

For sellers, a PDI can identify concerns before listing the vehicle and provide prospective buyers with confidence that the van has been professionally evaluated. A completed inspection can also serve as documentation supporting the vehicle's asking price and overall condition.

The inspection focuses primarily on the camper conversion, utility systems, appliances, electrical systems, plumbing systems, heating and cooling equipment, and other functional components. While select drivetrain components may be visually inspected, this service is not intended to replace a mechanical vehicle inspection and should not be considered an assessment of the overall condition of the engine, transmission, or drivetrain.

East Coast Vanlife assumes no responsibility for defects, failures, or damage discovered during or after the inspection. While every effort is made to identify issues, some failures may be intermittent, concealed, or otherwise not present during testing.

Inspection Options & Pricing
In-House Inspection
Base Price: $1,000
Vehicle must be dropped off by 8:15 AM
Plan for the vehicle to remain on-site for the full day
On-Site Inspection
Base Price: $1,000
Mobilization Fee: $200
Mileage Charge: $1.00 per mile beyond a 15-mile radius of our shop
Mileage is rounded up to the nearest whole mile

Our technicians will bring all required testing equipment and tools. For on-site inspections, customers must provide:

Adequate shore power
Potable water source
Necessary extension cords and water hoses

Please allow up to 8 hours for completion of an on-site inspection.

Appointment Policies

You will be contacted on the business day prior to your scheduled appointment to confirm service. If we are unable to reach you, the appointment may be canceled.

For on-site inspections, if the technician arrives and is unable to establish communication with the customer or designated representative, they will attempt contact and wait for up to one hour before departing. In this situation, mobilization fees and accrued mileage charges are non-refundable. Any exceptions must be arranged prior to the scheduled appointment.

If our technicians determine that site conditions present a safety concern, they reserve the right to discontinue service and leave the premises immediately.

Repairs & Follow-Up Service

Any repairs identified during the inspection are not included in the PDI. If repairs are desired, they must be scheduled separately through our service department. Labor, materials, and parts required for repairs are not covered under the inspection fee.
